She has performed both her prose and poetry in numerous literary events across the UK. Golnoosh just completed a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing. \nshattered us. I don\u2019t mind; because I was
\nthat bad kid, the best student at the back of the class
\nsleeplessly studying stoplessly
\nfor all the exams, writing the right
\nreplies to those wrong questions, and yet
\ncheating just to make sure all my responses
\nwere conspicuously correct. That I\u2019d get the best grade to
\nappease my distressed self and expectant parents.
\nAnd of course, the addictive thrill of cheating
\nthe drumming heartbeat, the slippery fingers, the sweaty pen
\nA forbidden book open, under the desk, on my trembling lap
\nor inked solutions on toilet papers emerging from my grey sleeves.<\/p>\n
\nten magicians chewing raw meat, blood oozing
\nthrough their teeth.
\nTen thousand magicians murmuring your name, a
\nvisceral curse in my scorching ears.<\/p>\n
\njust beware that loving and hurting you were the
\nlast things I wanted to do, like those cheating days,
\na treacherous teenager, trapped, in my dark school.<\/p>\n
