Or maybe<\/p>\n we\u2019d just finished<\/p>\n draped about like Tristan and Isolde<\/p>\n twisted sheets<\/span><\/p>\n casual genitalia<\/span><\/p>\n London\u2019s Calling faintly from the jukebox<\/p>\n outside the road sweeper\u2019s staccato<\/p>\n burns an old familiar beat on sun-stained streets<\/p>\n beneath the throbbing undulation of a thousand solitary feet<\/p>\n voices echo up with talk of burning buses<\/span><\/p>\n whispered chaos<\/span><\/p>\n but we\u2019re miles away from Aldgate<\/p>\n and all I can think about is one small alternative<\/p>\n the slender aching schism<\/p>\n of a myth defaced<\/span><\/p>\n replaced with some vague unarticulated fiction<\/p>\n <\/p>\n still buses pass<\/p>\n petals of grey ash from the incinerator<\/p>\n swoop<\/span><\/p>\n dive<\/span><\/p>\n are lost in the traffic<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Vicky Sharples<\/strong> lives by the sea with an enormous ginger cat.
