I felt like we should&#8217;ve<br \/>\nbeen arguing over his Range Rover, yelling<br \/>\nacross the drive about custody of some<br \/>\nannoying purse dog, spilling all our dirty<br \/>\nsecrets onto the counsellor\u2019s desk. All you do<\/p>\n<p>is nag, nag, nag, he&#8217;d say. I&#8217;d flip my hair<br \/>\nand glare at him from behind obnoxious<br \/>\nblack sunglasses, then launch into a rant<br \/>\nabout how much I hated the hair he leaves<br \/>\nin the shower drain. I wanted to break<\/p>\n<p>things, start rumours, invite friends over<br \/>\nto throw darts at pictures of him and refuse<br \/>\ncalls from my retired in-laws. Instead<br \/>\nI felt like you do when you go shopping<br \/>\nbut don\u2019t find anything on your list.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Eloise Unerman<\/strong> is a writer based in South Yorkshire who writes poetry and short stories, and attends Rotherham Young Writers.
