\nof noise and smell, past the field,
\nso green I swear I can see every blade
\nneedling its way through the alert earth,
\nyou always stop at the sound of a skylark.<\/p>\n
\nhitting your bald lifted head, so soft
\nsuddenly against the snow-blue sky.<\/p>\n
\nand hurry us on through early spring\u2019s
\nlate snap of cold, forgetting<\/p>\n
\nthis spotting of birds, of fish;
\nthe naming of every tree and tiny moss;
\nthe pointing out of every pinprick of miracle
\nto an unbelieving daughter.<\/p>\n
