Settings, dialogue, characterisation and special effects are of a low order; but even their modest unreality has its charm. There is really no fault in this film that one would like to <\/span>see eliminated. Everything, in its way, is quite perfect.<\/span>

Colour my movie Miss Niah from Mars.<\/span>
We offered tea. Bed for the night. A Scottish inn.<\/span>
Yet earthling sex slaves were top of your list.<\/span>
Men to breed women on the barren red planet.<\/span>
Was that really my Devil Girl on DVD<\/span>
indelibly bleached to a state of monochrome? <\/span>
Colourise my celluloid dream.<\/span>
Smear red your lips. Pink flesh your face.<\/span>
Shine bright your emerald S & M gear,<\/span>
cap, cowl, skirt and stiletto boots.<\/span>
Let your Hoover shaped robot <\/span>
be high tech silver out of control,<\/span>
and your promiscuous ray gun <\/span>
spurt a laser beam, <\/span>
all feisty red<\/span>
and cobalt blue.<\/span>

Perception 2<\/span>

B picture heather turns purple green. <\/span>
Bewildered Scotsman evaporates on glen.<\/span>
Whilst his smoking remains, <\/span>
those rounded up NHS glasses, <\/span>
reek of skin and mortal Technicolor.<\/span>

Perception 3<\/span>

Five years old. <\/span>
My paint box was small.<\/span>
Miss Niah commanded.<\/span>


* Alan Price was born in Liverpool in 1949. Read English at Sussex University. He works in London as a library assistant. His film <\/span>A Box of Swan<\/span> (1990) was screened on BBC 2. From 2002-2007 three short films were made with Polish director Pawel Regdosz. Stories broadcast on Radio 3, then in his collection <\/span>The Other Side of the Mirror<\/span> (Citron Press 1998). Poems recently published in <\/span>Poetry Monthly, Fickle Muses<\/span> (USA) <\/span>Finger Festival, Orbis<\/span> and <\/span>Decanto<\/span>. Regular poetry readings given in North London. Presently working towards a collection of poetry.<\/span>
