The Big Gig in the Sky<\/span>


pondering today about the singers <\/span>
and songwriters of my time<\/span>
and how many are now playing<\/span>
the Big Gig in the Sky<\/span>
there aren\u2019t all that many<\/span>
left alive, let alone performing<\/span>
the rest are old and wrinkled<\/span>
a lot like me<\/span>
living on borrowed time<\/span>
what will I do for lyrics when Willy goes<\/span>
and Cohen and Lightfoot<\/span>
and all the other geriatric genii that I love<\/span>

I can\u2019t help but wonder <\/span>
if a man\u2019s interest in music<\/span>
is defined by the singers he\u2019s outlived<\/span>
