\nshotguns ringing out across the fields.
\nNovember and the grouse hunt is in full swing,
\nBoris and Bean, both fat both mean
\nwith their combat trousers and hardened stare
\nbeating the grouse out of woods and fields.
\nI avoid the area this time of year, sticking to the public
\npaths,\u00a0the railway lines, curbing my need to trespass.
\nI once asked the men, what they\u00a0intended\u00a0to shoot?
\n‘Nothing good,’ came the reply.
\nMy computer makes white noise
\na steady hum and cackle. I think of false information
\ntravelling at speed down coloured ribbons of centrifugal wires.
\nAnd who do we believe? The vampire war mongers
\ncraving bloodshed? Or the mothers
\nscreaming for their dead?<\/p>\n
