\nThere are sugared buns and golden tray bakes,
\nsoft and sticky comfort behind glass,
\nevery kind of cup, saucer, plate to serve.
\n
\nThere is garrulous, gesticulating, long-lost
\nreacquaintance, awkward loneliness,
\ngood-to-sit down, get-the-weight off types.
\n
\nLiquid slops the table, leaves dark circle stains;
\ncrumbs litter the twice-a-day swept floor,
\nminimum wage barista rues her debt.
\n
