Dawns<\/p>\n<p>beginning earlier and earlier<br \/>\nand more welcome than before.<br \/>\nA brilliance fills the bedside glass<br \/>\nhalf full the more I look this spring<\/p>\n<p>and things appear never before seen<br \/>\nor heard. Something is going on<br \/>\nwith time. A small thud in my chest<br \/>\ngoing hurry, hurry.<\/p>\n<p>I thought I was grown up<br \/>\nbut now I expect more<br \/>\nfrom the way my mind<br \/>\nreassembles living signs.<\/p>\n<p>Colours, folds in nature,<br \/>\nan ordinary lapwing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gill Horitz<\/strong> has been published in magazines, including <em>Writing Women,\u00a0Mslexia, Smiths Knoll, Frogmore Papers, Tears in the Fence<\/em>, and short-listed\u00a0in Bridport Prize, 2011.
