A noun.<br \/>\n<em>Razbliuto<\/em>. \u00a0It has the bite<br \/>\nof a Corona taken easy or mouths<br \/>\nscarfed in the throat of the wind,<br \/>\nbut it doesn\u2019t taste of us. Our one-bed<br \/>\nbasement flat where vinyl spun<\/p>\n<p>and miso darkened Paris mugs. How<br \/>\nwe rarely slept. The radiator\u2019s click<br \/>\nwas long grass, rusting all the browns<br \/>\nof the heath but the only bleeding<br \/>\nyou did was post-shave. Nights,<br \/>\nwe watched shoe soles trip-trapping<br \/>\nover our bridge, imagined the tread<br \/>\nof rubber on our lips. You taught me<\/p>\n<p>how to skin up and when to inhale,<br \/>\nhow a lick sours when it dawdles<br \/>\nribcage to neck. Funny, how I\u2019ve lost<br \/>\nmy grip on you, certain sounds slipping.<br \/>\nThe bum note in your cough. I never<br \/>\ngot my length in that bed. I still think<br \/>\nabout your fingers: concertina nails,<br \/>\nchewed to the quick.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachael Smart<\/strong> has a thing about words.
