\nOrchards torn up for houses \u2013

\nstill seek dead-wood and bug.<\/p>\n
\nin the midst of brick and slate
\ntwo apple trees remain.
\nOne scarred black as dried blood,
\nthe other, gnarly eyed
\nfor staring into windows.<\/p>\n
