Letches<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The call to bright lights is a whisper,<\/p>\n

tempting souls into the clutches of<\/p>\n

dreams that hang on a celluloid precipice.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles turns us into letches<\/p>\n

who lurk under the wings of angels,<\/p>\n

covered in soot from generations<\/p>\n

of sweeping up discarded morals.<\/p>\n

Decrepit men, slathered in wealth,<\/p>\n

chase the skirts of simpering women<\/p>\n

with molded cheek bones and noses<\/p>\n

they weren\u2019t born with.<\/p>\n

Carbon copy blondes trample<\/p>\n

over the backs of comrades, and reach<\/p>\n

through barbed wire for a glimmer of fame.<\/p>\n

They come in droves and shed their skins,<\/p>\n

willing to do unthinkable things for<\/p>\n

just a drop of starlight on their tongues.<\/p>\n

Susan Richardson<\/strong>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>is living, writing and going blind in Los Angeles.\u00a0She shares a home with an Irishman, 2 pugs and 2 cats.\u00a0She was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa in 2002, and in addition to poetry, she writes a blog called\u00a0<\/span>Stories from the Edge of Blindness.<\/a> Her work has been published in: Stepping Stones Magazine, Wildflower Muse, The Furious Gazelle, The Hungry Chimera, Sheila-Na-Gig, Chantarelle\u2019s Notebook, Foxglove Journal, Literary Juice, Sick Lit Magazine, Amaryllis,<\/em> and The Anapest Journal,<\/em> with pieces forthcoming in Eunoia Review<\/em>.\u00a0 She was also awarded the Sheila-Na-Gig Winter Poetry Prize and will be featured in the Literary Juice 2018 Q&A Series.<\/p>\n
