Downstairs,<\/span>
someone grapples<\/span>
the compartments of breakfast cutlery;<\/span>
we fall between the forks.<\/span>
 <\/span>
In the moments prior to your departure<\/span>
the dark coats fold on us;<\/span>
 <\/span>
a clouded navy blue,<\/span>
a sentried black.<\/span>
 <\/span>
And all the dawns<\/span>
come rushing<\/span>
through the milk spout<\/span>
on the cereal.<\/span>
