The Last Present<\/span>
 <\/span>
Before he died<\/span>
He bought and wrapped<\/span>
This present<\/span>
It sits in my cupboard<\/span>
The snowmen have <\/span>
Waved many summers <\/span>
Away now<\/span>
And still<\/span>
I can not<\/span>
Bring myself<\/span>
To unwrap <\/span>
This last present.<\/span>
 <\/span>
She told me this <\/span>
And I did not laugh<\/span>
Did not entice <\/span>
Her to unwrap<\/span>
But wished that<\/span>
I too had<\/span>
A last present  <\/span>
To cherish <\/span>
And not unwrap<\/span>
 <\/span>
Two decades later<\/span>
I reached  into<\/span>
The cupboard<\/span>
That holds<\/span>
Only memories<\/span>
And found <\/span>
Eighteen years<\/span>
Left unwrapped<\/span>
And started<\/span>
To peep <\/span>
Till two years dropped<\/span>
And now I pull<\/span>
At the paper<\/span>
Of the sixteen.<\/span>
And wonder<\/span>
If one day<\/span>
I wish<\/span>
I hadn\u2019t.<\/span>
