Awkward<\/span>
    <\/span>
eating, taken out to lunch <\/span>
by someone I meet<\/span>
for the first time,<\/span>
someone I know I\u2019ll like,<\/span>
want to like me.<\/span>
Eating with my pudding spoon,<\/span>
chorizo, braised celery,<\/span>
and things I don\u2019t look at<\/span>
long enough to recognise<\/span>
because I\u2019m staring at him<\/span>
as if he can\u2019t see me<\/span>
examining his nose<\/span>
and the exact fullness of lips.<\/span>
He looks back at me,<\/span>
napkin to mouth,<\/span>
behind which he chokes<\/span>
on a green bean. <\/span>

Haiku Snap<\/span>

Dad, fag stuck to lip,<\/span>
green eyes, hard like bottle glass,<\/span>
surrounded by us.<\/span>

Mum, squinting against<\/span>
the sun, print dress and cardi,<\/span>
is feeling the cold.<\/span>

My younger sister<\/span>
squats, knees up and mouth open, <\/span>
unkissed frog princess.<\/span>
 <\/span>
The sulky one, me,<\/span>
cross legged, camera shy,<\/span>
wills time to pass.<\/span>
