\nIt has its reasons
\nreferred to as people
\nfor my purposes.
\nSeparated from the outside
\nthough not thought
\nparticularly isolated –
\nthe house considers
\nwhat the world has to offer
\nother than itself
\nbut respectfully declines.
\nIts windows are more
\nthan willing to open.
\nThey appreciate the sun,
\neven the mossy smell of rain.
\nEven bodies partake
\nof that oozing glow
\nand minds have
\na mellow dark liking
\nfor that gray smear
\nof inclement weather.
\nBright or chilling,
\nwinter or summer,
\nthe house can take it.
\nTherefore, inside holds together
\nno matter what.
\nAt night, the house
\nwillingly gives itself
\nup to darkness
\nknowing, as it does,
\nthe number of lights
\nit has on offer.
\nElectricity knows the ropes.
\nEven shadows are
\nincorporated into the whole.
\nPeople leave the house
\non occasion but return to it
\nin equal numbers.
\nIt could by anywhere
\nelse but it’s always where it is.
\nThat kind of loyalty
\ndoesn’t go unnoticed.<\/p>\n
