\nextinguished, realized that times were changing,
\nfearful for our crystal, our shop windows
\nhatched such tiny cracks, they\u2019d grow with voices rumbling.<\/p>\n
\nsecretly we searched for Mecca, phones in hands
\nbeseeching Suri, isn\u2019t hers a Muslim name?
\nA home grown voice dissembled, we became beguiled.<\/p>\n
\nthe gold now flaking from our shores,
\nour boats were tugging back,
\nand smarter souls would take off running.<\/p>\n
