There was something I was supposed to do<\/span>


Stunted growth, the tar I breathe,<\/span>
I watch busy bodies starting off their mornings.<\/span>

I was special once.<\/span>
There was something I was going to do.<\/span>

This little engine that could.<\/span>
With fantasies in place <\/span>
of daydreams, in place of everything \u2013<\/span>
even too little too late could have would.<\/span>

If time is time and time is moving,<\/span>
choices are habits that keep pace with you.<\/span>
We live by the ones we make, then quietly fade<\/span>
while people go about their day.<\/span>

There was something I was supposed to do,<\/span>
but this engine never moved.<\/span>
