{"id":13618,"date":"2017-05-24T08:00:10","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T08:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=13618"},"modified":"2017-04-16T09:46:10","modified_gmt":"2017-04-16T09:46:10","slug":"aimee-keeble-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/aimee-keeble-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Aim\u00e9e Keeble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Arthur and Merlin\u2019s Cave<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rain sick,<br \/>\nBound by the small hours-<br \/>\nHe is fading<br \/>\nWalks through the moors,<br \/>\nPast the hard ponies,<br \/>\nTheir hair lumpy with burs and their noses raw with nettle rash<br \/>\nThe sheep skitter like a dropped bag of pellets<br \/>\nAs he goes<br \/>\nHe pulls at the earth,<br \/>\nTearing lengths of green and brown<br \/>\nIn his tired hands and the dirt<br \/>\nStains him cleaner<br \/>\nThings to build a prayer with,<br \/>\nMaybe,<br \/>\nMud is a good filler<br \/>\nNothing but sharp toothed patience<br \/>\nAnd hungry time<br \/>\nTo battle his thundering heart<br \/>\nThe rain bends his back with watery fingers<br \/>\nAnd the cave sticks its shadow tongue at him<br \/>\nAs he breaks through the gloom<br \/>\nInto the hollow dry<br \/>\n&#8220;You forgot to teach me about love&#8221;<br \/>\nHe cries into the space of endless all<br \/>\nAnd waits for a reply,<br \/>\nKnowing that to ask is to answer<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><strong>Aim\u00e9e Keeble<\/strong>&#8216;s work has been published by the <em>Lighthouse Journal, Forward Poetry, <\/em>and<em> ink, sweat and tears.<\/em>\u00a0 She has exhibited her work at Flint Gallery in Norwich, theprintspace in London, and the Supertte Gallery in Paris as a part of <em>Never Turn Back<\/em>, a photographic project headed by Dean Chalkley. The two have collaborated on a publication titled <em>One<\/em> which focuses on the idea of subculture and is available through Antenne Books. Aim\u00e9e is currently the assistant editor and journalist for <em>FreightEurasia<\/em> magazine.
