False teeth, filled platters, diffident brides <\/span>
derided.<\/span>
Summer or was it fall come and gone. <\/span>
Halitosis appeared but no one was identified.<\/span>
The smartness of narrative was never more apparent.<\/span>

A lovely quality to applause;<\/span>

cheek to cheek<\/span>
dancers wink,<\/span>
toes in,<\/span>
elbows out,<\/span>
only to find <\/span>
while not abandoned<\/span>
they've been mistaken. <\/span>

Forward to where<\/span>
night looms and spider webs occupy empty drawers.<\/span>

Who pauses on the stairs?<\/span>

Two macaques imprisoned screech.<\/span>
And who would capitulate<\/span>
even if indicted?<\/span>

Bitter(?),<\/span>

though the taste be sweet?<\/span>

Less, <\/span>
         much less, than I ever thought I would be.<\/span>
