Slides Into the Keyway<\/span>


It's quite simple. His name is Jarvin, the keeper of<\/span>
the keys. Hooked to a belt loop, they dangle as he<\/span>
walks and make a hard kerplunk on the worn oak stool<\/span>
where he parks his keister for the long afternoon.<\/span>
Jarvin's your man when facing a locked door with no<\/span>
key. He specializes in doors. No pad locks. No<\/span>
vehicles. And no mailboxes, thank you very much!<\/span>
“Cylinder locks are my favorites, although I have<\/span>
plenty of keys for pin-and-tumblers, wafer-tumblers,<\/span>
and tubular locks,” he says with the confidence of a<\/span>
guy who could teach a master locksmith a trick or two.<\/span>
“Keys are beautiful. Each one has a blade that slides<\/span>
into the keyway and the bow, which sticks out, so that<\/span>
torque can be applied by the user.” Jarvin spends<\/span>
hours admiring the peaks and valleys cut into key<\/span>
blades. He has a skeleton key, which belonged to his<\/span>
grandmother's cedar chest where linens, a fistful of<\/span>
love letters tied with a salmon-color ribbon, and a<\/span>
silk lacy undergarment were locked up. An odd cedar<\/span>
chest key on the ring of a red-blooded door man \u2013 a<\/span>
bit strange, but true.<\/span>

profits. Check under the mattress for wads of cash.<\/span>
Don\u2019t forget the sofa cushions \u2013 all that change can<\/span>
add up. That pure, sparkly sea-blue view of Mamma<\/span>
Nature is waiting for you, and only you.<\/span>
