To the left,<br \/>\na harried old man takes unsure steps<br \/>\ndown to the chill of the GP surgery;<\/p>\n<p>and the kid stops, spotting a school girl<br \/>\nwho sambas and sashays on toe-tips,<br \/>\nsmiling as though it\u2019s August Carnival,<br \/>\nwhen the air pulsates to a free jazz rhythm &#8211;<br \/>\ncircling, adapting, vibrant, then gone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neil Reeder<\/strong> is a researcher on public services, who lives and works in London.
