I can\u2019t bear the way she looks at you. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anna Mace<\/strong> has contributed to the limited edition bookart project, Revolve:R where her poetry has been turned into short films. Last year she had published poetry in Translation Games, Kemptation Magazine, Arkbound, Curating the Contemporary, Streetcake Magazine <\/em>and Inconnu<\/em> zine and most recently her poetry was featured in the No Bindings<\/em> zine and podcast. Her manuscript was shortlisted for The Melita Hume Poetry Prize 2015 with Eyewear Publishing, London, UK. \nThe hold of her petalled lips, curled into a plea-
\n-ease me tonight, pout.\u00a0 And her horn-ed
\ntrimmed eyes, all plucked slices of honey this,
\nexcreting cr\u00e8me patisserie.\u00a0 Icing, sweet violet tip –
\nflicks of that, decorative corners on words, the nail
\nindents smudge still darkening my palms, in fury.\u00a0 Fuck,
\nI\u2019d breathe for you. But you can\u2019t hear, not this sigh,
\nso tailored, the way the heart breaks shrill on my bended
\nknee and chokes my words.\u00a0 All I do is watch you,
\nsteeped in the banality of the unremarkable, shave, blink.
\nExcept to me, you have become this beacon of my
\neveryday.\u00a0 All you do is clutter the surfaces as I
\nwipe them clean, smiling to the tilt of my yes,
\nthe graze of your hand against kettle and cup,
\nfull to bursting, as if to touch your heaven with my soul,
\nin exchange, I\u2019d hope for more in another lifetime, but
\nyou will forget me, I know, slowly, gently over time,
\nwe are not in one another\u2019s worlds so etched, besides,
\nthe winds blow as surely as this hope evaporates,
\nand sip my coffee through the steam and yearn for
\nall the times you\u2019d think of me, the times she looks at you.<\/p>\n
