Once you&#8217;ve soared,<br \/>\nwalking just isn&#8217;t the same.<\/p>\n<p>The dull thud of feet verses<br \/>\nthe silence of gliding, plus<br \/>\nthe swishes, the swooshes,<br \/>\nthe glances-up of admiration.<\/p>\n<p>If only you could remember.<br \/>\nWhat you would do for a spell,<br \/>\na recipe, a formula, a diagram &#8230;<br \/>\na You-Tube clip to follow.<\/p>\n<p>You walk to the block of flats<br \/>\nwhere you namelessly reside<br \/>\nand take the lift up to the roof<br \/>\nfor the one-thousandth time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vik Shirley<\/strong> is a Bristol-based poet whose work has appeared in <em>Hermeneutic Chaos Literary Journal<\/em> and <em>Lunar Poetry<\/em>.
