Love and Houses<\/strong><\/p>\n I know a couple that made a house. I know a couple that paid for a photoshoot, I know a boy who carries an armful of bricks I know how to talk to a house <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\nLaid down hardwood floors and carpets
\nand built up walls like lego.
\nClothes hang from the ceiling washing-rack.
\nThere\u2019s a pop-art kitchen blind,
\nlavender in the bathroom
\nand a TV on the bookshelf at the end of the bed.<\/p>\n
\nstanding in front of white walls.
\nThere was shining never-used cutlery on the table,
\nnext to candles with wax sealed around the wick.
\nIn the background stock photos in golden frames.
\nThe set had no roof above them
\nbut they cropped that out in the facebook pictures.<\/p>\n
\nhoping every day to meet someone new and build.
\nI know a girl who won\u2019t stay in one house anymore
\nand takes her sleeping bag from sofa to sofa.
\nI know two men who built their home together
\nthen had a rock put through their window,
\nglass scattered across a handwoven rug.<\/p>\n
\nwhen living in it alone.
\nI know how to encourage the coffee machine
\nthat its smell is still appreciated.
\nI know how to teach the radiators to be warm,
\nthe cd player to sing
\nand the walls to listen kindly.<\/p>\n
