{"id":12038,"date":"2016-11-01T09:00:53","date_gmt":"2016-11-01T09:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ink.verticalplus.co.uk\/archive\/?p=12038"},"modified":"2016-11-01T10:45:17","modified_gmt":"2016-11-01T10:45:17","slug":"filippa-bahrke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inksweatandtears.co.uk\/archive\/filippa-bahrke\/","title":{"rendered":"Filippa Bahrke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sliced (a cut-up poem)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>you come home from New York City<br \/>\nand a love affair you kept<br \/>\non a lowish heat<br \/>\nI shot a video<br \/>\nthe footage is so sick<br \/>\nsmelling of the fancy, short drinks<br \/>\nto where I refrigerate<br \/>\nunder January milky ways<br \/>\nAnd we practice<br \/>\nthe gentlest of improvisations<br \/>\nThe vanilla extract<br \/>\nof your Egyptian cotton<br \/>\noffers a moment&#8217;s penetration<br \/>\nof my 5&amp;10 cheap perfumes,<br \/>\na far-cry from<br \/>\nsweet lip flesh<br \/>\nMeanwhile I have found<br \/>\ndrinks, like men<br \/>\nare often quite strong<br \/>\nand come in almost any flavour<\/p>\n<p>once you scooped me up<br \/>\nlike a blob of cream<br \/>\nto place on top<br \/>\ntelling them<br \/>\nI like the sweet<br \/>\nfall of her<br \/>\nAnd we practiced<br \/>\nblack ideas<br \/>\nin the middle of heaven<\/p>\n<p>we spill like warm milk<br \/>\nonto the sheets<br \/>\nStirring in the satin cream<br \/>\nthat is our bed<br \/>\nwhere love is whisked alive<br \/>\nYou are yet to comment<br \/>\non my changing hair colour<br \/>\nbut sieve in the lies<br \/>\nto soothe the sudden burst<br \/>\nof my eyes&#8217; hot peppers<br \/>\nWe are clingfilmed<br \/>\ninto doom<\/p>\n<p>billboard calls<br \/>\ngrace-wise<br \/>\nI gnaw your bastardely face<br \/>\nwith my eyes<br \/>\nYou reach out but find only<br \/>\nribs, ribs, ribs<br \/>\nparading my troubles<br \/>\nI linger on your arm where<br \/>\na darker skin is forming<br \/>\nI rest on its chocolate surface<br \/>\nhiding from my own<br \/>\nfluorescent sun<\/p>\n<p>my cheek has been tweaked<br \/>\non the threshold<br \/>\nand the serpent of my joy<br \/>\nkeeps sliding<br \/>\nwithout preciousness<br \/>\nout of my doors<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filippa\u00a0Bahrke<\/strong> is 24, and an English Lit and Creative Writing graduate from Greenwich University. She&#8217;s previously been featured in the student magazine, and won the PNSEL Poetry Prize.
