\nand floorboards that creaked under my weight
\nWe ate blueberry pie together with our bare hands
\nMy blue legs crossed on a matted fur rug
\nwith rust-coloured stains on the underneath<\/p>\n
\nburst open their plump skin
\nand left a blue-black stain on the cast-iron rim of the bathtub<\/p>\n
\nwith tree roots grounded into the floor
\nTrunks stretched their arms across the walls
\nAs we entered their crooked fingers unfolded<\/p>\n
\nwith a knitted tartan blanket
\nto keep my blue skin warm
\nI am like a newborn kitten
\ndrowsy in my slumber<\/p>\n
\nwith thorns that prick at my fingertips
\nThe creature collects drops of my blood
\nin a glass jar with the name Blue
\nengraved into its curves<\/p>\n
\nnext to the rows of other glass gars
\ncoated with thick smears of dry blood
\nThe creature wears his fur red
\naround his mouth<\/p>\n
