The Poetic Revolution Begins Here<\/span>

Questo bombardamento poetico sulla citt\u00e0 vuole lanciare in tutto il mondo il Manifesto di Genova della Rivoluzione Poetica\u2026<\/span>

Lawrence Ferlinghetti<\/span>
is at the controls of a helicopter<\/span>
and is swooping dangerously<\/span>
over the Doge\u2019s Palace.<\/span>
The helicopter dislodges a statue<\/span>
and soars up towards the one accommodating cloud.<\/span>
It hovers and feigns<\/span>
and then it turns to pepper the city of Genoa<\/span>
with incantatory poems.<\/span>
The Carabinieri take a few disparate shots<\/span>
and you can see Ferlinghetti<\/span>
shaking his fist<\/span>
whilst preparing to drop<\/span>
a particularly lethal dose of Andr\u00e9 Breton.<\/span>
The Genoese scatter and duck<\/span>
and hurtle towards the underground<\/span>
which hasn\u2019t been built.<\/span>
All the alleyways of the old quarter are laced<\/span>
with poems<\/span>
that wind their unchallengeable way back<\/span>
to Walt Whitman.<\/span>
You can see Ferlinghetti quite clearly now<\/span>
dapper in his blue shirt.<\/span>
He\u2019s caressing<\/span>
the sexual organs of the city.<\/span>
