Willow Tree Night and Snowy Visitors<\/span>

Winter is tapping<\/span>
on the hollow willow tree's trunk \u2013<\/span>
a four month visitor is about to move in<\/span>
and unload his messy clothing<\/span>
and be windy about it \u2013<\/span>
bark is grayish white as coming night with snow<\/span>
fragments the seasons.<\/span>
The chill of frost lies a deceitful blanket<\/span>
over the courtyard greens and coats a<\/span>
ghostly white mist over yellowed willow<\/span>
leaves' widely spaced teeth \u2013<\/span>
you can hear them clicking<\/span>
like false teeth<\/span>
or chattering like chipmunks<\/span>
threatened in a distant burrow.<\/span>
The willow tree knows the old man<\/span>
approaching has showed up before,<\/span>
in early November with an<\/span>
ice packed cheek and brutal<\/span>
puffy wind whistling with a sting.<\/span>
