Dozens heckle<br \/>\nmy arrival, note my eagerness to hide.<\/p>\n<p>I take a room above the mill race,<br \/>\ncry for six hours solid, reading<br \/>\nself-help guides from W.H. Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently it\u2019s all to be expected.<br \/>\nWailing isn\u2019t so unusual, although<br \/>\nthe knowing doesn\u2019t make it go away.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m seared by unkind laughter,<br \/>\nloud as driving water, longer<br \/>\nthan recrimination, won\u2019t forget<\/p>\n<p>this raucous all night mockery,<br \/>\nthe know-it-all malice of ducks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since 2011 <strong>Kathy Gee<\/strong> has been published in magazines including <em>The Interpreter\u2019s House, Obsessed with Pipework, Ink, Sweat and Tears, \u2018And Other Poems\u2019, Antiphon, Acumen <\/em>and<em> Prole.<\/em> Her collection \u2013 <em>Book of Bones<\/em> \u2013 will be published by V.
