Birds and Mice<\/strong><\/p>\n There are birds in my garden there are mice beneath my feet my mother says \u2018this is my daughter, <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fiona Donaghy<\/strong> was born in Dublin in 1974 and moved to Norwich in 1999. She has a Diploma in Creative Writing from The UEA and a degree in English and Cultural Studies from City College Norwich. \nand they are not singing\u00a0 for me
\nthey are black like my moods
\nand when they are dead they keep making noises<\/p>\n
\nand i follow them about the house
\ntill they hide from me;
\nI don\u2019t shy from them
\nwhite, brown, perfectly\u00a0 small.<\/p>\n
\nshe\u00a0 knows about bird songs but I myself am fearful of mice\u2019<\/p>\n
